Is this Pokemon viable?

Excadrill

For those who aren't aware, Excadrill is one of the new 5th Generation Pokemon, and one that is immensely powerful. There are a lot of very cool things this 'mon can do. Let's go down the line of things I immediately notice when looking at him.

Base 88 Speed that doubles in a sandstorm

That's a big number. With no investment and a neutral nature, it hits 212 Speed, 414 after the Sand Throw boost.

Access to Swords Dance

With Swords Dance, he boosts his already stellar Attack stat to even higher levels.

Access to Rapid Spin

Ignoring his support movepool would be a tragedy. Let's pair Doryuuzu with Hippowdon or Tyranitar and use him as one of the best offensive Rapid Spinners that exist.

  3. Man, oh man. 5th gen pokemon frighten me. It's like Nintendo said, "Forget the budget, have as much LSD as you want."

Still, interesting stuff you've got here. Follow't, etcetera.

  4. Oh god I'm pretty lost right now, I stopped playing with silver and gold. Seems like the battle mechanic is more complex now.

  5. One of the few black and white pokemons that doesn't feel like a complete ripoff of the earlier pokemons.

  6. Wow, this Pokémon seems really cool! I think it's still very possible to create original Pokémon no matter how many there already are :)
I'll be following this blog. I don't actually play Pokémon games much, but your analysis is to-the-point yet very detailed. I like it!

  10. Not viable. It is not Butterfree. Any Pokemon that is not Butterfree is a bad pokemon. QED.

  16. That's a pretty intimidating pokemon. Bad-ass enough to give me hope for the future of the franchise atleast.
