Braviary
Braviary's Attack is the highest of a Normal/Flying, beating out Staraptor by 3 points. While slower than Staraptor, he is also bulkier, and unlike most birds might be able to take an extra hit or two with his 100/75/75 defenses. He may not get the preferred Close Combat, but Superpower is still very helpful to deal with opposing Rocks and Steels who would otherwise stop him dead.
His power cannot be ignored, and he has a few very handy moves to do his job with. The main points that differentiate him from his birdy brethren are his bulk, access to useful stat-uppers like Claw Sharpen and Bulk Up, and more expansive movepool, with options like Shadow Claw and Rock Slide open to him.
All in all, if played to his strengths, Braviary is very useful Pokemon which will likely see a fair amount of usage in competitive Pokemon play.
I didn't find him that powerful imo. I raised him to around level 60 and he left me asking for more. His pool move isn't the best either. I think the rock/flying bird pokemon is a better choice.
ReplyDeleteNice site.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for PKMN Black/White to be released in english!!
ReplyDeleteneed a ds. My experience drops off at the Ruby/Saph Generation.
ReplyDeleteHe looks awesome!
ReplyDeletelooks sick! I like your blog, I'll be following.

ReplyDeleteAwesome blog man. I still get all nostalgic thinking about pokemon trading cards. I also loved the new pokemon DS games, and can't wait for Black / White. They're bringing out new pokemon games so fast I'm almost jealous of the younger generations... if only I could play pokemon in public and not be ridiculed. I'm a dreamer man... but not the only one.
ReplyDeleteI havent played pokemon in ages, so ima follow you to see how much its chnaged haha
ReplyDeletePokemon is such nostalgia for me. I remember putting in hours and hours into my gameboy game.
ReplyDeleteI personally can't say whether or not he's viable, but he sure as hell looks awesome! I remember playing with friends when I was about five or six. I didn't even know what viability meant, and I would always end up getting stomped. So I've been taking notes on each of your posts, they should help me get some revenge =P thank you.
ReplyDeletehe looks nice, which is rare today
ReplyDeleteHe *is* very useful!
ReplyDeleteway too many new pokemon, they need to rehash red and blue again.
ReplyDeleteNice looking pokemon, unfortuantely i dont rate him enough to use him when i play.
ReplyDeleteit's alright. i looked at all of the english names for the black/white pokemon and a lot were cringeworthy.
ReplyDeletefoongus and amoonguss were my favorites. i audibly laughed.
I never liked normal types. Why I would need a normal pokemon? that sounds lame.
ReplyDelete@Bassislv couldn't agree with you more. After the original 150 Pokémon, the the others look less and less original and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThe B/W competetive gameplay hasn't fully developed yet, and there's still a lot of research to be done.
ReplyDeleteIt can, however, be said that superpower is really very usefull if he can succesfully pull it off before the enemy KOs him.
he looks like a mix between an articuno an a pidgeot, or am I wrong?
ReplyDeleteis there an online pokemon game now?
ReplyDeleteI love the name. Personally, much better than Wargle. I never can bring myself to use flying types though.
ReplyDeleteWow. Pokemon. This brings me back.
ReplyDeleteDoesnt look that good if you ask me :/
ReplyDeleteYEah the newest pokemon I played was Emerald edition. I don't even know what this pokemon is... Feels bad.
ReplyDeleteim not sure if that pokemon is viable or not
ReplyDeletemixtapes

ReplyDeleteI still can't get over how Americanized they made him.
ReplyDeleteLike it's an interesting concept, but just...doesn't...feel...riiiight ;-;
This is really helpful though, awesome post!
